Kamalini Mukherjee was born on 4th March 1980 in Kolkata, West Bengal State. During her school days itself she used to participate in school plays. She is also interested in painting and poetry. Even before her acting career she wrote 3 poems which were published on poetry.com. She was invited to Washington for attending International Poetry Contest presided by Dalai Lama.Kamalinee Mukherjee also known as Kamalini Mukherjee, is an Indian film actress. She has appeared in Telugu films as well as Tamil and Hindi language movies. After graduating with a degree in English literature from Loreto College in Kolkata, she took up a hotel management course in New Delhi but left it to pursue a course in theater in Mumbai. While in Mumbai, she also modeled in advertisements for brands such as Britannia, Bausch & Lomb, Neelkamal Furniture, Parachute, Fair & Lovely etc. and was the face of Hindustan Lever’s Ayush

She made her film debut with Bollywood movie Phir Milenge in 2004 co-starring Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Abhishek Bachchanand Nassar, though film failed at box-office it was critically successful. She subsequently appeared in numerous commercially successful movies like Anand Raja and Satya Krishnan, Style co-starring Prabhu Deva, Charmme Kaur and Raghava Lawrence, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu co-starring Kamal Haasan, Jyothika and Prakash Raj, Godavari co-starring Sumanth and Neetu Chandra, Gamyam co-starring Allari Naresh and Sharwanand, Kannada film Savaari co-starring Srinagar Kitty, Raghu Mukherjee and SumanRanganathan, Police Police co-starring Srikanth, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Sanjana, Govindudu Andarivadele co-starring Ram Charan Ram Charan, Srikanth, Kajal Aggarwal and Prakash Raj, among other films.

In 2009, she played the role of Latin Christian woman, Pemenna, in Kutty Srank, directed by Cannes award-winning director, Shaji N. Karun and starring Malayalam matinee idol, Mammooty. The film swept the National Awards, winning in 6 categories including Best Film. She garnered tremendous praise for her portrayal of a young girl discovering her own sexuality and passion for forbidden love. In the same year, she worked in veteran director Vamsi’s musical, Gopi Gopika Godavari which was well received not only for its cinematic content but also for its soundtrack. 2012 gave Kamalinee the opportunity to debut in her native language Bengali in National Award-winning director, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s Aparajita Tumi starring Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee. The film met with critical and commercial success and she garnered positive reviews. As per one review “The character of Ushashie, played by Kamalinee, is perhaps the most interesting one in the movie. The actress is stunning in her portrayal of a lonely, frustrated woman who runs through an entire gamut of emotions – right from resentment and self-pity, to anger, vengeance and finally, an inner sense of guilt”. Following Aparajita Tumi, she also appeared in K Raghavenrda Rao’s devotional film, Shirdi Sai with Nagarjuna. Her next project was new-age Malayalam director, V. K. Prakash’s Natholi Oru Cheriya Meenalla, where she played a quirky character opposite Fahadh Faasil.
