M.Natarajan was the husband of Chinamma V.K.Sasikala and a person who is credited to be the mind behind lots of politicians success in Tamil Nadu. He was born in a remote village in Villar and always had a desire to achieve big in his life. M.Natarajan who was known as the organiser had a great political mind for the ever changing game of Tamil Nadu Politics.
Rise in Politics
He became close with politician M.Karunanidhi and it was this proximity that won took him far. M.Natarajan moved the ladder of success in Tamil Nadu politics rapidly and his influence was not to be taken lightly by any party whether it was M.Karunanidhi or MGR. Karunanidhi absolutely loved him, so much that he even attended his marriage.
After MGR death Natarajan played a crucial role behind the scenes in helping the then young J. Jayalalithaa. With the success followed controversies. He and his wife were accused of placing their family members in powerful positions in the cabinet.
Mannargudi Fallout
The Mannargudi scam was not good news for anyone in the party and M.Natarajan had to bear the blame. He was removed and J. Jayalalithaa even ordered him to stay away from her home.
M.Natarajan was never as active in the later part of his life as he was suffering from chest infection and had to constantly take treatment. However he was still said to have control over the key elements of the party. With his death an era of Tamil Nadu politics has gone away.
