Prabhu Deva was born on 3 April 1973 in Mysore, Karnataka to a lingayat family and grown up in Alwarpet, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He was inspired by his father, Mugur Sundar (Well known as Sundaram Master), who has choreographed for many popular South Indian movies. His two brothers Raju Sundaram and Nagendra Prasad are also established South Indian choreographers. He has learned Indian dance forms such as Bharatanatyam as well as Western dance styles.
Prabhu Deva is one of the most popular choreographer, actor and film director in Bollywood. He has predominantly worked in Tamil, Telugu, Bollywood, Malayalam and Kannada films. Deva has been widely referred in the media as India’s Michael Jackson for his fast-paced dance moves. He was recently seen in the flick Tutak Tutak Tutiya alongwith Sonu Sood and Tamannah Bhatia.
Actor-filmmaker Prabhudheva is coming up in a Tamil action-drama titled ‘Eng Mang Sang’. It will be directed by debutant M.S. Arjun and features actress Catherine Tresa as female lead. The movie is a period drama that travels from 1970s’ to 1980s’. Prabhudheva will be seen playing a Kung Fu master. The regular shooting will start from February 17.
