Nagraj Manjule is an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter. He is well known for his first award winning short film Pistulya. He made his debut with movie Fandry. At the 61st National Film Awards, Fandry won the Indira Gandhi Award for Best First Film of a Director. His thinking and writing is out of the box.

His recent movie Sairat is the highest grossing film in Marathi Film Industry. Its a love story of Archi and parsha. Manjule grew up in Jeur village in the Solapur district of Maharashtra. In his early days Nagraj was interested in theatre instead of study.He used to watch the serial Ramayana which is aired on Doordarshan. He has pursued M.A. in Marathi literature from University of Pune, followed by Masters in communication studies from New Arts, Science and Commerce College, Ahmednagar.
