Disha Wakani was born on 17 August 1978 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She got famous for her role as Daya in Taarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashmah on SAB TV. Disha is a big foodie but she try to indulge not more on outside food and prefers to eat home cooked meals. Her father has been an artist and has also produced and directed various drama plays. So she had a very close bonding with the industry right from childhood. Her parents have supported a lot throughout her journey in the industry.

In 2008 she was selected for the lead role of Daya Jethalal Gada in the famous comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. She had also played guest roles in the shows like Kaun banega Crorepati 4 and Indian idol 5.
