Rahul Tripathi was born on 2 March 1991 is an Indian first-class cricketer who plays for Maharashtra. In February 2017, he was bought by the Rising Pune Supergiants team for the 2017 Indian Premier League for 10 lakhs. He plays for the Rising Pune Supergiants, in the Indian Premier League (IPL), 2017. He was encouraged by his father and was given formal cricket training, from a very young age. Initially, he started his cricketing career by playing for Deccan Gymkhana, which is considered as one of the oldest clubs in Pune. He is a first-class Right handed cricketer, who came into limelight with his performance in the Ranji Trophy, in the year 2016. During an unofficial audition, for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017, he was picked up by the Rising Pune Supergiants, for INR 10 Lakhs. In Vijay Hazare Trophy, which was held a month later after the auction, he gave his best performance by scoring 157 runs in 3 innings, in that 50-over match.
