Asumal Sirumalani, known as Asharam Bapu or just Bapuji by his followers in India. He preaches the existence of One Supreme Conscious in every human being following the traditions of Advaita Vedanta. According to rough estimates, he has about 40 million disciples. He was born on 17 April 1941.He left the home at the age of 23 and set out on his journey in the search of God. In the early 1970s, Asharam’s followers built an ashram for him on 4 ha (10 acres) of land in Gujarat. By 2013, he had 400 major and minor ashrams in India and abroad, with numerous followers..

Asharam Bapu was born on 17 April 1941, in the Berani village of the Nawabshah District in British India (Present-day Berani Town is located in Jam Nawaz Ali Tehsil of District Sanghar Sindh Pakistan), to Menhgiba and Thaumal Sirumalani. His birthname was Asumal Thaumal Harpalani or Asumal Sirumalani.

There are lacs of his followers across the world who alleges that he has been targeted being the hindu saint and some Anti-Hindu forces acted to frame their spiritual leader. They believe that Asaram Bapu is a road-block for other religious organizations.

As per the face book page that is made to mark the black day on 31st August to show their dissent to the arrest of their respected saint, Anti-National and anti-cultural forces have heavily conspired against Sant Shri Asharamji Bapu to obstruct and destroy the respect and popularity of various ever-growing selfless service campaigns being run by Sant Shri Asharamji Ashrams under the guidance of Pujya Bapuji.

The page further said that these forces fear the awakening of self-respect, confidence and love for Indian culture and Sanatan Sanskriti being brought about by Bapuji in millions of citizens which harms their selfish interests.

It also said that despite these conspiraces the great Karmayogi Pujya Bapuji continues his selfless services, showering transcendental bliss incessantly.
