Akshay Khanna was born on 28 March 1975 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He has done his schooling from Bombay International and later from Lovedale School in Ooty. He received graduation from HR College, Mumbai. Later, he got trained in acting at Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute in Mumbai. He is interested in sports and is the member of Willingdon Sports Club.
Akshay Khanna is an Indian film actor, who works in bollywood films. He has made his acting debut with 1997 film Himalay Putra under his father Vinod Khanna’s production. Since than he has featured in several films like Border, Taal, Dil Chahta Hai, Hulchul, Race and many more. After a huge of gap of five years he was seen in the movie Dishoom.
Akshay Khanna has started his film career with Himalay Putra film. His next release was Border, earned him the Filmfare Best Debut Award and a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1998.
After that a string of unsuccessful films followed such as Mohabbat (1997),Love You Hamesha (1999) and Dahek: A Burning Passion (1999).
Later for his film Aa Ab Laut Chalen, he has earned much fame. Subhash Ghai’s Taal opposite Aishwarya Rai became a critical and commercial success. In 2001, Khanna appeared in classic film Dil Chahta Hai which turned out to be a turning point in his career. He was last seen in 2012 film “Gali Gali Chor Hai”.
